The seminar

The Pernambuco Seminar on Visualization and Sustainability (PSVS24) is an international event dedicated to exploring the role of technology in sustainability and how to promote more sustainable practices within the visualization community. Scheduled for October 21-25, 2024, in Recife, Brazil, the seminar will gather diverse participants. This includes leading experts in Data Visualization and Human-Computer Interaction, distinguished graduate students and emerging researchers, as well as local activists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers dedicated to computer science and sustainability. PSVS24 anticipates welcoming over 50 experts who will offer knowledge through keynotes, hands-on workshops, and dynamic working groups.

Promoting dialogues on (1) how data visualization can drive sustainability and (2) how to develop sustainable practices in visualization

Positioning Recife and the Center of Informatics as a prominent hub in Latin America for pioneering discussions on sustainable computing

The PSVS24 will be held across two notable venues: the Informatics Center (CIn) and Porto Digital. The primary host, the Center of Informatics (CIn), is a hub for cutting-edge research and education in Computer Science in Latin America. Porto Digital, an innovation and technology park, complements this by fostering a vibrant ecosystem of startups, tech companies, and incubators.
